MANILA -- She's the one who received the shoes, but their fans were the ones who ended up feeling thankful the most.
Last Saturday, Sandara Park shared a photo of the customized kicks she got from BIGBANG's G-Dragon, whom she was romantically linked with in the past --rumors the two have consistently denied.
She posted the snap on Instagram, showing that she got not just one, but three pairs from her label mate and close friend.
Among the things that made Park's own pairs unique were her name being spelled out on the back, and a reference to a 2NE1 song.
The shoes were a personalized edition of G-Dragon's collaboration with Nike dubbed "Para-Noise" --a limited edition of the brand's Air Force 1 line. In her caption, Park, as translated by Korean sites, said that the designs have a "funny but sad story" to them.
Park, who wasn't the only one to receive a personalized pair, made her post after she attended a private fashion event, which G-Dragon was part of. She thanked him and congratulated him for the successful project with Nike.
According to reports online, the "Para-Noise" shoes were immediately sold out worldwide. An official statement from Nike has yet to confirm this.
Moments after Park posted her shoes, "Daragon" became a trending topic on Twitter worldwide. It's a name fans use for the two's pairing, with many expressing their gratefulness to know just how special Park and G-Dragon's relationship is.
So Dara's shoes are actually white but Jiyong handpainted the one side of each to make it yellow plus the doodle of her name making it really customized. And if that does not scream special, I don't know what will. #DARAGON pic.twitter.com/LRzSMTxyH3. (@notrecee) November 23, 2019
