MANILA, Philippines The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas on Sunday unveiled the four-man lineup that will represent the country in the 3x3 competition at next week'sSoutheast Asian Games.
Columbian Dyip super rookie CJ Perez together with Meralcos Chris Newsome headline the lineup, along with San Miguel Beers Mo Tautuaa and Phoenixs Jason Perkins.
With the aim of winning the countrys first ever SEA Games gold medal in 3x3 basketball while also making sure that it gets more attention from Philippine basketball fans, the SBP has put together a team that could accomplish both tasks, saidAl Panlilio, president of the SBP, the sport's national governing body.
We applaud the work that all of the players and the staff put in throughout their preparations and we wish them all the best in their upcoming competitions, he added.
Our squad is composed of a versatile bunch and were confident that their hard work will pay off.
